Amish Nativity print by renowned artist Freiman Stoltzfus
This item is not Amish-made. Print is by renowned artist Freiman Stoltzfus, who was raised Amish-Mennonite.
This exquisite and moving print needs no explanation:
So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh;
Come, peasant, king, to own Him!
The King of Kings salvation brings;
Let loving hearts enthrone Him!
Raise, raise the song on high!
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy! Joy! for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!
Here the nativity scene takes on an Amish theme. All personnages wear Amish garb and the Babe is covered with an Ohio Star Amish quilt. The scene is in a barn instead of a manger, the soft glow by lanterns instead of oil lamps. Most Amish folks would be humbled by this and claim that they are not worthy of such a depiction. But we think that's just fine, just as Mr. Stoltzfus painted it.
